Whether you have a large family in town, are out-of-town visiting yours, or are gathering with friends, Christmas week is a great time to start a new tradition! It’s also an easy and fun way to pass the time, if you (or the kiddos) are in need of activities to do. We’ve put together a few of our favorite traditions for the holidays.
If you’re partial to a sweet tooth, this is one of the best ways to get your fill of sugar, and spread the love! Baking cookies fills the house with an incredible scent, and once you’re done, they make a thoughtful gift to share with neighbors. Plus, little ones are great stirrers and decorators!
A nativity is a wonderful way to keep in mind what this holiday is all about. It’s also a great tool to educate children with, explaining the significance of each piece, while allowing them to place the figurines in the arrangement.
Whether or not you’ve got chestnuts roasting on an open fire, a cozy fireside is the perfect setting for gathering the family, or friends (or even furry babies) and reading a Christmas story together. The Night Before Christmas is certainly a favorite, but any beloved holiday tale will do!
Midnight Mass or Christmas Eve Service
As with the nativity scene, going to church is a time-honored tradition for many people, wanting to connect with the spirit of the season. Often, the church will be packed, full of singing and candlelight. It can be a warm and welcoming way to usher in Christmas.
Whatever tradition you choose, we hope your week of Christmas is full of joy, laughter, and the fondest memories!
