With New Years Day on a few days away, we’ve been thinking about how we’re going to celebrate the arrival of 2015. There are so many New Year’s Day traditions, and each of our team member celebrates in their own way, with families and friends. We thought we’d share a few of our favorite New Year’s Day traditions, for anyone looking to add or grow their own!
Many of the traditions for New Year’s Day are also superstitions, but that doesn’t make them any less fun (or perhaps even true!). If you’re in the market to grow your fortune in 2015, we have team members who suggest eating cabbage for economic growth. If you feel you need a little luck, look to black eyed peas, or consider pork for prosperity.
If you’re looking to be lucky in love, consider planning your wedding on New Year’s Day. It’s our very own Terry DeSelms, and his wife Jeanne’s, anniversary! An added bonus to this double holiday is their whole family celebrates with them!
For many people, New Year’s Day is the time when they set goals for the year to come, rather than resolutions. We have team members focusing on personal goals, as well as health-oriented ones for the coming year. A good way to keep on track is to choose an accountability partner. Perhaps a friend or co-worker you trust, who you can share your goals and follow up with monthly or quarterly, while cheering each other on.
Whatever tradition you make, or goals you set this year, we hope you have the happiest, most joy-filled New Year’s Day!
