Nashville Highlight: Melrose & Berry Hill

    Nashville is full of little neighborhoods boasting with just the right amount of charm and coolness. One of these spots is the Melrose & Berry Hill area. You’ll find award winning restaurants sitting next to iconic hole-in-the-wall bars. With a mix of commercial spaces and historic homes, the neighborhood is sure to catch your attention (and maybe even win you over with its hometown vibe).

    Berry Hill lies just south of 8th Avenue and the Melrose area. Technically, Berry Hill is its own city, but many locals consider it another neighborhood or part of town. This quaint little spot is home to many businesses and recording studios (very Nashville). The city is small in size. In fact, it’s less than one square mile in area. However, it hosts more than 400 businesses and the population in any given day reaches over 6,500. You will find bungalows that house anything from restaurants to specialty shops to antique stores. Convenient to I-65 and downtown Nashville, Berry Hill has the perfect geographical location. You’ll also find restaurants that are favorites for locals.     Melrose lies right next to Berry Hill. With 8th Avenue running right through the middle of the neighborhood, this spot is a direct shot into downtown Nashville. You will find award winning restaurants like Sinema and native favorites like The Smiling Elephant up and down the main drag. Once again, you will feel right at home in this part of town with beautiful, historic bungalows mixed with new developments. Everything is walkable and you won’t have to leave the neighborhood for much of anything. You have a grocery store, coffee shops, restaurants, a comedy club, and convenience stores all within a couple miles of one another. The area has quick access to I-65 on Wedgewood Avenue and a quick trip up 8th Avenue will get you into downtown Nashville as well!
