Middle Tennessee Real Estate Spotlight: Brentwood

Brentwood originally began as a small community of farms with a little village.  In 1969, Brentwood incorporated as a city – the same year that the interstate was built through that region. Over time, people discovered that they could live in Brentwood and commute to Nashville quickly and easily, thus growing the Brentwood community.

Brentwood remains extremely desirable today for that same reason. In fact, Brentwood is only 16 miles from the Nashville airport and 13 miles from downtown Nashville. The city is also just minutes from the Franklin area, where Cool Springs and Franklin’s downtown are continuing to grow.

Winning accolades, the city of Brentwood received the 2013 Most Business Friendly City Award. There are numerous local businesses such as The Perch, Puffy Muffin, and Parlour 3. It is also the home for many large, national retail shops like REI, Target, and Havertys. This blend of businesses is part of what makes living in Brentwood a great location for families. Plus, the strong community support for local business makes this an ideal place for entrepreneurs.

The schools are an added bonus. Brentwood is part of the Williamson County School district, which is the highest achieving district in Tennessee. Both Brentwood High and Ravenwood High were listed in the Top Ranked TN Schools according to US News. Interestingly enough, the entire city of Brentwood was actually named the 13th most educated city by NerdWallet.

Another perk to this great community is the standard of living. This is a very family friendly city, with a nationally recognized library and a number of parks accessible for outdoor activities.  There are several public parks, a hugely popular biking trail, and the Little Harpeth River waterway where kayaking and paddling take place regularly. The opportunities to get outside and be active are a driving force for the continued excellence found in Brentwood. This all adds to the overall quality of life Brentwood is well known for these days.

Housing options in Brentwood vary greatly. There are condo units for young families or individuals, established neighborhoods, and plenty of new construction.  From gated communities to traditional neighborhoods, there is an attractive real estate choice for everyone. Home sales for Brentwood have increased significantly, closing 56 homes last month alone with an average sales price of $682,900 and an average square footage of 4,299.
