With temperatures cooling, autumn can be the perfect time to focus on home improvement projects and home renovations. We get a lot of questions about where homeowners should start when it comes to home improvements. It can be easy to get overwhelmed when there are so many rooms in the house, and each room feels as important as the next. We thought we’d share a few tips for where to start, in hopes it makes your adventures in upgrades a seamless one.

Freshen Up The Walls
One of the more affordable home improvements is paint. If you’re a DIYer, painting by yourself means you cover more wall space for less money, though it can be tiring if you have a lot of space to cover. Hiring a professional painter means you forego the manual labor and hard work – and there is something wonderful about walking into your home once it’s been painted when you haven’t had to lift a brush.
Whichever way you decide to go, the key (if you are considering to sell your home) is to choose colors you love that are also in season. You want your home to be bright and fresh, warm and inviting – and don’t forget to update the paint on baseboards too.
Bathroom Bliss
Most of us spend time every morning and evening in the bathroom. So why not invest in making it as luxurious and lavish as the rest of your house? Start with updating fixtures such as towel bars, toilet paper holders, and lighting. Add a splash of color with the walls (while being sure to use mold & mildew proof paint), and replace old or out-of-date faucets and sinks. Once you’ve worked your way up, you can move on to renovating the floor. Tile is a great way to give your bathroom a clean and visual impact!
Organize Your Garage
No one likes a cluttered mess, and for whatever reason, it’s easiest for garages and attics to grow into exactly that! If your garage is a bit on the messy side, know you are not alone. Most homeowner’s fight with storage at one time or another and the garage can feel the brute of this struggle. Spend a weekend sorting through the clutter, organize the items by keep, throw away, and donate. Take it one item at a time and don’t forget to play your favorite tunes or an audio book to keep you company. When you’re done, consider pressure washing the floor and refreshing the paint on the walls to give your updating garage a whole new feel.
