Tara DeSelms
Tara is what we call a “unicorn” in Nashville, which means she was born and raised here, which is quite rare. She began her real estate career at the age of 8 by helping her dad with marketing, door knocking and showing homes with her dad, Terry DeSelms, founder of The DeSelms Team. You can say that real estate is in her blood. She started working full-time in real estate 2004, after graduating from Harding University with a Bachelor's in Business Marketing, and hasn't stopped since. She has received her Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation, Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation from the Residential Real Estate Council, Short Sale Foreclosure Resource (SFR) designation and Graduate Realtor® Institute (GRI) designation. In 2008, she received her Managing Broker’s license which allowed her to be the Principal Broker of DeSelms Real Estate for over 14 years.
Tara has been involved with her local association, Greater Nashville Realtors®, in various capacities, including serving as the Committee Chair for the RPAC and Awards of Excellence Committees, a member of the Professional Development and Grievance Committee and is an RPAC trustee and Golden R investor. Since 2016 she has served as a member of the Board of Directors at Greater Nashville Realtors® and in 2022 became the Vice President. She also serves at the state level as a Board of Director of TN Realtors® and is the co-chair of the Professional Standards Committee for the entire state of TN.
Although she loves real estate, her main passion is her children, Isabelle & Kaleb. Tara’s hobbies include traveling (preferably Europe!), practicing yoga, reading, and journaling.
She has the heart of a teacher and enjoys sharing her knowledge with her clients.
